EFBWW's 50th Anniversary
The European Federation of Building and Woodworkers celebrated its 50th Anniversary in Luxembourg on 2 December 2008. Invited to the anniversary were the EFBWW Executive Committee, a number of former Presidents and Secretariat members, among them Juan Fernandez from Belgium, Bruno Köbele, Peter Riemer, Ernst-Ludwig Laux and Bernd Eisenbach from Germany, Ove Bengtsberg from Sweden and Harrie Bijen from The Netherlands, employer organizations involved in the Social Dialogue with EFBWW, such as FIEC, CEI-Bois and UEA, John Monks from the ETUC and Anita Normark and Marion Hellman from the BWI.

At the Anniversary, a new logo was introduced; a web-site was launched, and a booklet of the history of the EFBWW was presented. The booklet is available in English, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Spanish and Danish.

The President of the EFBWW, Domenico Pesenti, said that “the EFBWW will continue in its efforts to build an even stronger European trade union organization, capable of representing the interests of workers before the institutions of the EU, while safeguarding and mobilizing the workers to build a European society with solidarity and democracy for all.”
